Mattresses

A very frequent product request I get is for the best mattress for anyone from yourself to your kid transitioning to a bed to a baby.

I did a community poll last year, but never put it into a post and now that our community is double the size I thought I would do it again. The great news is that the results were the SAME, which gives me even more confidence in the top choices. A mattress is a big investment and something you want to love, the thought of going out to buy and test one sounds like a miserable use of your time though, so I hope this is helpful and gives you more confidence in this buying decision!

Adult Mattress: The top choice has consistently been a Casper Mattress in my polls, most notably the Original Hybrid version, made of memory foam and springs. These mattress come in 6 sizes, have a 100 night risk free trial and 10 year limited warranty. They arrive in a box and so it is suggested you let them breathe for 72 hours before using them. Linked on Amazon here or Casper website here.

Kid Mattress: This Saatva Youth Mattress is the most popular option for kids, it is organic and hypoallergenic. The best feature is that it is 2 sided, one side best for 3-8 year olds and the other for kids 8 and up, so it will last them for a really long time. It also has a water resistant finish in case of accidents, they really thought of everything. Available in sizes Twin, Twin XL and Full.

Baby Mattress: By far the top vote for best baby mattress was the Newton mattress. This option is most known for being 100% breathable and washable and is 2 sided so you can transition from baby to toddler use. If you are looking for a more affordable option that is highly rated and many of you love, the Moonlight Little Dreamer is $100 less and offers dual sided comfort as well.

Affordable Mattress: I had never heard of this brand, but a Zinus mattress came through a ton as a really good, affordable for option that comes in Twin through King sizing, so this would be great for a spare room or even a kid's room.
