Ask anyone that owns a cordless Dyson vacuum, they live up to the hype and are worth the spend. The perks = cord free, only 5 lbs, simple to empty, slim for storage, can reach just about any surface, quick clean up for messy kids/pets, transforms into a handheld - SO MANY perks. There are several versions in the market and the most notable difference is really the battery life and dustbin size between all of them. I would recommend the Dyson V7 (mid price point) which lasts for 30 min before needing to recharge.
